Description
The Oklahoma City Convention Center is seeking an experienced and motivated Banquet Captain to join our Food & Beverage team. In this role, you will supervise banquet servers and ensure each event is executed with exceptional service and professionalism. You will serve as the primary on‑site contact for clients, maintain communication with culinary and management teams, and uphold high standards of guest satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise banquet servers and coordinate service activities.
- Consult with the Banquet Manager on staffing needs, service arrangements, and equipment requirements.
- Meet with the Chef on Duty before each shift to review banquet event orders, menu items, and timing expectations.
- Greet clients prior to event start to review event details and itineraries.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to ensure exceptional service.
- Lead pre‑shift lineups, review menus, check uniform standards, and conduct brief training topics.
- Prepare detailed Captain’s Reports after each event.
- Monitor alcoholic beverage service in compliance with company policies.
- Inspect event spaces before guest arrival to ensure cleanliness and ambiance.
- Ensure accurate food presentation and garnishing.
- Maintain orderliness in both front‑ and back‑of‑house areas.
- Oversee staff closing duties and provide performance feedback to management.
- Complete required paperwork and closing responsibilities.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of experience as a banquet server or banquet captain.
- Food Handler’s and Alcohol Awareness Certificates preferred.
