OKC Convention Center announces new culinary team

The Oklahoma City Convention Center is excited to announce the promotion of Joshua Moore to Executive Chef, overseeing SAVOR’s kitchen operation for catering and concession functions. Eric Wise has been hired as Executive Sous Chef.

Moore, who previously served as the Executive Sous Chef at the OKCCC, has assisted in overseeing the food and beverage operations for numerous conventions, plated dinners, and receptions. Moore always assures that every detail is meticulously attended to. He prefers Made in Oklahoma products serving elevated comfort food built with layers of flavor and the development of other delectable culinary offerings.

Moore has a long history of collaborations with acclaimed chefs. He has also been recognized in various culinary competitions where he has participated and won, including mentoring a group of culinary high school students to a first-place finish in a statewide competition. His team at Edmond North High School recently competed and placed at the National Pro Start Invitational in Baltimore.

He continues to mentor vocational training programs for disadvantaged students at the Guthrie Job Corps who seek to gain tools, knowledge, and experience for the next generation of culinary professionals to have a better chance of succeeding.

Moore is a graduate of Platt College Culinary School and has worked with ASM Global for more than six years, starting first as a cook at Chesapeake Energy Arena, now Paycom Center, and later becoming Sous Chef before moving over to OKCCC in 2021.

Wise has most recently been the Senior Sous Chef of the concession kitchens at Paycom Center since 2004. He has prepared unique backstage meals for superstar artists, including Garth Brooks, Billy Joel, KISS, and the Oklahoma City Thunder. This year, the Paycom Center was voted the No. 1 venue for concessions in the NBA. He is a creative and talented addition to the culinary team at OKCCC.
